I recently stayed at the charming Harrogate Garden Motel for a short getaway. From the moment I arrived, the warm welcome from Owner Sue made me feel right at home. The spacious bedroom and bathroom were a delight, with beautiful bay windows overlooking a lovely garden. It was a peaceful and comfortable retreat. The fully fitted kitchen was a bonus, and Sue's homemade chocolate brownies were the perfect treat. The motel's location, just a short stroll from shops and restaurants, was convenient and ensured I had everything I needed. The cleanliness of the room and bedding was exceptional, adding to the overall comfort of my stay.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The moment I stepped into the motel, I was captivated by the beautiful gardens surrounding the property. It was like entering a tranquil oasis, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The décor in the general areas was tastefully done, with cozy seating areas where I could sit and relax. As a senior woman, I appreciated the easy accessibility of the hotel. The paths were well-maintained and there were no stairs or obstacles that would hinder my mobility. It was a delight to wander around the property and enjoy the serene ambiance.
If I had to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, I would say that it would be helpful if the children working there could provide more assistance with luggage. While the motel itself was easily accessible, carrying heavy bags to and from the room can be a bit challenging for older guests.

Had a great New Year stay at a self-contained unit in a beautiful spot. The unit was spacious and clean, with great facilities such as a well-equipped kitchenette and a lovely window seat. We appreciated the free WiFi and borrowing DVDs from their good collection. The hosts were extremely friendly. Location is very handy too, just a short walk to the local tourist office, shops and pools.
There was no door or curtain in the shower, which made it difficult to keep the floor dry. the bed was a bit too soft for our liking.

I keep coming back for my holidays because this place has everything I need - free Wi-Fi, parking, outdoor dining, and a flat-screen TV. The staff even helped me find a car service! Perfect for me with its golf course, no pets allowed, and non-smoking rooms.

Location in Hanmer was fairly central and quiet. Good value for money.
No countryside views from my room; the courtyard and fridge were shared with other guests; room overlooked directly from courtyard and parking area necessitating drawing of the window and door blinds to ensure privacy. Simple net curtains would help.

Our stay was great, located in a super convenient spot, being in the heart of town but still quiet. The room was well-appointed, with a lovely bathroom that included a spa bath and even a washing machine tucked away in a cupboard. The gardens were a sight to behold, with a private courtyard to enjoy. The owner was pleasant and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We were disappointed by the fish and chips we had from a local vendor.
